So much for the semi-retired, beer-guzzling, intergalactic respite for our favorite Blonde God Thor (Chris Hemsworth), as our universe is being taken over by Gorr, the God Butcher (Christian Bale), as he is one very unhappy camper, with a load of vengeance in his heart, that is beckoning to be unleashed…
So, what’s a God to do, when his fellow God’s are perishing in every direction, than to enlist the help of his friend King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and much to his surprise, a blast from his past arrives on the scene to assist too, the Love of his life, Astronomer Jane Foster (Natalie Portman).
As our team sets out to destroy Gorr, we find that even Zeus (Russell Crowe) seems to be no match for this demon who seeks vengeance on every God he encounters. Now, it’s up to Thor, Jane, King Valkyrie and Korg to try to make everything right with the world once again, as Gorr remains steadfast and determined to carry out his vow…that ALL Gods must die!!!

I give THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER a rating of 4 out of 5: Fun and entertaining isn’t the half of it this time around, and THOR is back in all his glory, and then some. A shout out to Taika Waititi too, for helping to bring Thor back to life, as the God we all want to embrace with, repeatedly, throughout this fabulous film. I must attest that I didn’t agree with Waititi’s last go round with Thor, as I felt tortured by Thor’s Godlike demise in RAGNAROK, as I barely made it to the credits for that not so funny, not enticing, totally stripping Thor of all his dignity film! Now, I know, I was one of the few Critics who wasn’t totally sold by the RAGNAROK storyline, and semi-chuckles throughout, but you have no idea how much glee THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER brought to my heart, as Thor returns to his rightful place, serving as the sexiest God Alive, while saving his friends, and his old girlfriend too! And speaking of old girlfriends, it was sooo fabulous to see Natalie Portman return to her role as Jane Foster, and her new persona this time around, was an exciting twist to this wonderfully awesome storyline too. I was also mesmerized by Christian Bale’s creep factor within his role as Gorr, The God Butcher, as this role is so far away from his previous Superhero stint, you don’t even allow you mind to wander back to when he was serving up movie after movie, as the Dark Knight. Marvel has done it yet again, making this franchise seem to be endless in the possibilities as each of their characters evolve, including a short stint this time around for our favorite Guardians of the Galaxy to have a little screen time too. I must also share before I go, that I think my favorite scene throughout this new Thor flick, was the one that encompasses quite a few cameos throughout, which end up being not only funny, but picture-perfect, in every way…bringing a smile to my face, that didn’t cease until the 2nd must- see ending of THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER finally came flashing by. If you love MARVEL and THOR, then of course this is the film you are heading to a theater near you to see, and believe me when I tell you, you are going to want to see this one, on the biggest IMAX screen you can find!
