It’s been Nine years since we’ve had the opportunity to hang out with our “Favorite Toys”, and as we embark on our next adventure, we find that Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen) are enjoying their new home with Bonnie, although it seems that Bonnie (Madeleine McGraw) has created a new friend for them to hang with, her buddy Forky (Tony Hale). As everyone is lucky enough to join Bonnie and her family on a “road trip of a lifetime” …we find our friends both old, and new, soon find ~ the world outside Bonnie’s room is about to turn into one big fabulous adventure, yet again…
I give TOY STORY 4 a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN, but you already knew that right?!: Woody, Buzz and the gang are back and so is our beloved Bo Peep for this next installment of the best Pixar franchise for me! Toy Story 4 seems if no time has passed at all, as Hanks and Allen – I mean Woody and Buzz, bring their characters back to the big screen, with all the joy and humbleness that we’ve known and loved since the beginning! PIXAR has definitely managed to do it again, ~ as only they can ~ and with another adventurous storyline that will tug at your heartstrings, every step of the way. I just knew that Toy Story 4 wasn’t going to be able to make me “the blubbering fool” that the 3rd installment did, as that storyline was way too close to home with my eldest heading off to College, just like Andy did. Well, that was very wishful thinking on my part ~ and very stupid of me as well ~ because in true PIXAR Fashion, they managed to once again make sure that you need a few tissues to get through this one too! And let me assure you that I was not the only one in my family touched by this film, as both my 19-year old daughter, and my hubby too, were shedding tears right along with me. Yep, be prepared for this installment to emotionally affect your whole crew as well! I mean, truth be told, I’m sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house, once this 4th installment finished playing out. And I am amazed at how each of these actors/characters manage to touch your soul so deeply, that you just start to relive your childhood each time another film is released. I absolutely loved seeing Woody and Buzz again, and Bo Peep too, and the writers brought along some incredible new characters to add to the excitement too, including Duke Caboom – played by Keanu Reeves, and the masterfully crafted addition of Bunny and Ducky, brought to life by none other than Key and Peele, thus making this next installment even more stupendous, if you can believe that! So now that you know to prepare yourself for another very exciting, and very emotional adventure at the hands of Pixar, make sure to gather up your whole family, and head out the a theater near you to catch TOY STORY 4 this weekend. This film is absolutely sheer perfection to view, throughout each passing frame – including the last few…so make sure to stick around till the very end 😉

NO SPOILERS BELOW
Let’s not pull any punches here, if you have kids or if you have seen any of the other TOY STORY films, you’re going to see TOY STORY 4. It’s a fact and we all know it. And to be honest, TOY STORY 4 is worth your time and money. These four movies are done with such love and heart that I would say it is impossible to not get caught up in all the fun they provide their audience. Each story is its own and after watching TOY STORY 4 I have now noticed the outstanding character arcs provided for all these wonderful toys we see on the silver screen. It’s very subtle, but it’s there and that is one of the many reasons why I fell in love with these movies. Another reason why I love the TOY STORY franchise is the evolution of the animation. It is the perfect example of how Pixar has evolved into the animation giant they have become. The original TOY STORY movie came out in the year 1995 and since then, the world of computer-generated movies has been pushing the limits of how far they can actually go. The attention to detail has become astounding. For example, a cowboy’s leather hat has visible wear and tear, the stickers on an astronaut’s spacesuit are now showing they have bunched and bubbled over time, and a porcelain sheep herder has a sheen to her that reflects all her surroundings. Seeing these things is just the tip of the iceberg too. The use of camera angles has gone to a place that even the animators probably never thought it could go. I absolutely cannot wait to see what these digital geniuses come up with next. And finally, I would like to talk about the voice talent. Tom Hanks – well it’s Tom Hanks. He’s amazing and comes across as one of the most caring human beings ever. Tim Allen has brought his A game once again. But the surprise of this movie is Annie Potts who voices Bo Peep. She started off in these movies as a supporting character, but this time around she is a major contributor to the pushing forward of this story. And that’s the beauty of Pixar animation. An actor may only have a couple of lines in the first film, but then in a sequel (which could be years down the line) they could be the main focus of the movie. Great job all around!!! Go see TOY STORY 4 in theaters as soon as you can! Like I said earlier, it is worth your time and money. Until next time, thanks for reading.
P.S. – There is no post credit scene, but if you’re a true fan of the TOY STORY franchise, then stick around until after the credits have rolled because there are a couple of dedications that deserve your nod.
