“The Action-Packed Thriller of the SUMMER has finally arrived… and you don’t want to miss a minute of it!” Kathy Kaiser, Matinee Chat
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT – Rated PG-13 – 2 hrs. 27 mins.
Director: Christopher McQuarrie
Writers: Christopher McQuarrie, Bruce Geller (TV Show)
Starring: Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Alec Baldwin, and Michelle Monaghan
As the IMF team reunites…it seems that “business as usual” is only the beginning of this assignment, as Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) isn’t sure if he’s up against friend, or foe this time around! With Benji (Simon Pegg), and Luther (Ving Rhames), in tow, and some other blasts from the past reuniting for this mission, it seems it’s going to take everything they’ve got…to stop this maniacal, sinister plot…
I give MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN, and ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER WAY!!! It’s hard to imagine that this is the 6th installment with Cruise playing lead character Ethan Hunt. It’s even more unimaginable that Cruise does as many of his own stunts within these films as he does, and believe me, his “Adrenaline Junkie” persona is in full swing this time around ~ along with a truly suspenseful storyline throughout every inch of film. Suffice to say…it might be time to say, “Move over 007, Cruise and MI are here to stay!” And talk about the increasing development of characters the whole way through too…even if you haven’t been privy to see all of the MI films since 2000, no worries there either…as Hunt and his comrades are kicking ass, and taking names, even better than “back in the day”! Add in the beautiful addition of Superman himself, Henry Cavill, and you have a film that is so perfect, it has to be the #1 film of Summer 2018, as I can’t imagine anything else that is going to be able to touch it from what is yet to hit this summer. Take my word for it, this is your date night choice this weekend ~ bar none ~ as it has all the thrills, all the spills, all the suspense you love in action films, and manages somehow to turn it up a notch throughout each passing frame!!!
