As we meet photo journalist Alex Martin (Kate Winslet) and Neurosurgeon Ben Bass (Idris Elba) – their paths have inadvertently crossed, as they search for a way to make it to their respective destinations, after their flight has been cancelled.
When Alex and Ben decide to charter a private flight…they soon find that this idea may not have been the best – as due to pilot error, they find themselves crashing in the mountains…with literally no life in site…except for Pilot Walter’s (Beau Bridges) dog, who is at least able to keep them company…till they decide how to get themselves out of this mess…
Lost for days in the wilderness ~ and with no one really knowing where they are ~ Alex and Ben must devise a plan to get them off this mountain, and back to civilization, before they both perish in this cold and barren wasteland…
I give THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN! I adore both Kate Winslet and Idris Elba, so I was hoping that this film would enthrall me when I saw it, and happily, it totally did! From the perfectly cast roles and wonderful performances, to the incredible cinematography throughout, to this film even having “the perfect ending”….THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US is breathtakingly beautiful, suspenseful, and touching, with each passing frame. Believe me ladies, we have waited quite a while for a “love story” like this to hit the big screen, and it has finally arrived. And for the fellas out there, it’s not totally a chick flick either, as the suspense will keep your attention throughout too, thus, leaving me to suggest that it might play out in your best interest to suggest taking your lady to this fabulous film this weekend. She will be not only be enamored with this film, but with you as well, for even making this suggestion, and then enjoying viewing it with her too.
