LOGAN LUCKY – Rated PG-13 – 1 hr. 59 mins.
Starring Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Daniel Craig, Katie Holmes, Riley Keough, and Seth MacFarlane
From the man who brought us such entertaining films as SEX, LIES and VIDEOTAPE, TRAFFIC, OCEANS 11, and MAGIC MIKE – Steven Soderbergh – comes another rip-roaring good time of a movie that you just don’t want to miss…THIS IS LOGAN LUCKY!!!
As we meet the ex-football star, now blue-collar worker Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) he is hell bent on making life the best it can be for his little girl Sadie (Farrah Mackenzie). Sad part is, he can’t compete with his ex-wife Bobbie Jo (Katie Holmes) and her POS husband Moody (David Denmam), as they are providing Sadie the type of life already that “dreams are made of”…
Wanting to make things better for his life, and for his friends and family, Jimmy decides to attempt to steal a ton of cash from a NASCAR race near home, lining up his brother Clyde (Adam Driver), sister Mellie (Riley Keough), along with imprisoned explosive specialist Joe Bang (Daniel Craig) to pull it off…question is, if Bang’s in jail…how is he going to assist those Lucky Logan’s from behind bars??? I guess they have plans in place for this little hick-up too you know…but will it all work out in the end????
I give LOGAN LUCKY a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN!!! Talk about a hootin and a hollarin good time ~ Tatum, Driver, Craig, Holmes, Keough, and the rest of the gang, all give extremely funny and entertaining performances this time around – and luckily – there are a few very heart felt moments along the way too for good measure. The only negative for me throughout this film was the fact that Craig should have worked a little while longer on his “southern accent”, as it came across fake and forced the whole way through, which total took away from his otherwise awesome performance. But, even with that little faux pas, …LOGAN LUCKY is a definite MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN this weekend! It’s a little heist, mixed with some little blue-collar humor and flare, tossed in the middle of NASCAR…I mean, what else does a film need at this point???? Absolutely NOTHING! Mark my words; LOGAN LUCKY will end up being one of those funny and enjoyable films you will find yourself wanting to view again, and again, and again…because it’s just THAT GOOD!!!
