THE CONJURING 2 – Rated R
Starring Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Madison Wolfe and Frances O’Connor
As we journey back into the lives of “REAL LIFE GHOSTBUSTERS” Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) and Ed Warren (Patrick Wilson), they are laying low back on a self-imposed break, after the intenseness of their last demonic encounter.
When a haunting and possible possession takes place across the pond in England ~ local investigators and paranormal specialists think it’s a hoax.
Explain that to single mom Peggy Hodgson (Frances O’Connor), whose daughter Janet (Madison Wolfe) is shaken to her core by the presence of a “something” or “someone” inside her…
Coming out of retirement at the request of the Church, Lorrain and Ed head to Enfield to check out the Hodgson’s family, and their home, in order to clarify if what is happening to Janet is TRUE POSSESSION, or just an average haunting from an apparition that doesn’t want to go away…
As Ed and Lorraine try to help this family, and keep each other safe along the way, it seems that a demonic force definitely has Janet in it’s sites, and is hell bent on the destruction of Ed and Lorraine too, before IT’S THROUGH…
I give THE CONJURING 2 a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN ~ Yes, I am as surprised as anyone that I am telling you to head out to the theaters to catch this Real-life Horror movie, as I don’t usually enjoy this genre of film at all, and usually avoid viewing them. James Wan did a fabulous job directing this actual haunting for the big screen, as it comes across as just the right blend of “true-life scenarios” and “super scary stuff” so that it keeps you on the edge of your seat, and guessing, “what’s next?”. Wilson and Farmiga are even better together than the first time around, playing the paranormal specialists who want to make our world a better place, one ghostly extraction at a time. For me, The CONJURING 2 was the perfect mix of THE SIXTH SENSE and THE EXORCIST – as parts of the film throughout felt as if I was watching them both at the same time. Whether horror films are your thing ~ or NOT~ I suggest that you head out to catch this one at a theater near you ~ as its not too scary, and oh so real feel, is something that everyone should experience, horror film fanatic, or not!!!
