13 HOURS: THE SECRET SOLDIERS OF BENGHAZI – Rated R
Based on the Novel by Mitchell Zuckoff, and brought to the BIG SCREEN by DIRECTOR EXTRAORDINAIRE Michael Bay ~ who has brought us such action-packed films as BAD BOYS, TRANSFORMERS, ARMAGEDDON and PEARL HARBOR~ comes the TRUE STORY of what REALLY HAPPENED on September 11, 2012 in Benghazi, Libya ~ as told by the courageous HEROES who were caught under terrorist attack ~ THIS IS 13 HOURS!!!
Working as Military contractors in Benghazi, Libya ~ John “Tig” Tiegen (Dominic Fumusa), Mark “Oz” Geist (Max Martini), David “Boon” Benton (David Denman), Kris “Tanto” Paronto (Pablo Schreiber), Tyrone “Rone” Woods (James Badge Dale), and Jack Silva (John Krasinski) are keeping a watchful eye on the CIA Operatives working at the undisclosed area known as THE ANNEX.
When Ambassador Chris Stevens (Matt Letcher) decides that he is going to stay in Libya to “rally the newly liberated” country, it is decided that his excursions out in to the city are going to be halted ~ at least until the date of 9/11 has passed ~ as Intel has revealed that the streets are growing restless with possible terrorist extremists…
As our former military operatives are settling in for the night, it seems that a distress call is coming in from the Ambassador’s compound ~ as terrorists are killing our military personnel who are to guard Steven’s.
Hearing the calls coming over their radios ~ these past military men know they need to head to the Ambassador’s headquarters ~ but are instructed to stay put at the Annex until further instruction…
As the attacks continue ~ numerous calls go out both in Benghazi, and back at the home in the states ~ asking for military support both on the ground and by air…when it seems that no help is in site ~ it is up to these 6 brave former military specialists to assist the Ambassador, and to try to keep their comrades at the Annex, and themselves too, from ultimate PERIL…
I give 13 HOURS: THE SECRET SOLDIERS OF BENGHAZI a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN: Pleasantly surprised, yet inexplicably moved, I must first share that if you are ready for a POLITICAL FIRESTORM, then you might as well stay home, as this film, and the TRUE STORY it is portraying on screen, is about as apolitical as it can get! ~ This true story focuses on the lives of those who lost their lives, and those who luckily get to come home too, without all the political BS that came from this horrific ordeal back here in the states. Of course this film is graphically violent, and as action packed as it can get, but this real life drama, filled with real-life former military men ~ still giving their all to protect their fellow Americans, and each other, it truly a film that EVERY AMERICAN should see! Krasinski is spectacular as Silva, as are all the other actors in their respective roles ~ which I can confirm, having met both Tiegen and Geist in an interview in late 2015 – Martini and Fumusa were spot in in their portrayals of these brave and courageous men!!! But, let me also make it clear, that they don’t sugar coat the fact that even after numerous requests, no help was secured to assist the Ambassador, his personnel, or these fine men out of uniform. Make no mistake ~ this in the ONE FILM that you have to see this weekend ~ as it will explain what true love of country, and your fellow man, is really ALL ABOUT!!!
