FOCUS ~ Rated R

Focus-Movie-Poster

HES BACK!!!!!…Gone are the days of sci-fi miss steps and cameo roles ~ as Will Smith is perfectly cast as the con-man extraordinaire, playing opposite the exquisitely beautiful Margot Robbie as his accomplice in crime ~ make no mistake about it ~ this isn’t your standard February film release, because everything seems to be getting better and HOTTER as we shift into FOCUS.

Making money hand over fist with his team of sticky fingered and smooth talking con artists, Nicky (Will Smith) is stopped in his tracks by Jess (Margot Robbie) the semi-talented and extremely gorgeous pick pocket that wants in on a little of Nicky’s action, and wants him to teach her everything he knows.

When their supposed working arrangement goes in a direction neither of them intended ~ yet both seem to be extremely enjoying ~ Nicky decides the time has come to find a way to get Jess out, before she gets in too deep.

Flash forward a few years when their paths cross again, only Jess doesn’t need any assistance from Nicky this time around ~ she has someone else who is more than happy to give her everything she needs ~ Race Car Driver and millionaire boyfriend Garriga (played by Rodrigo Santoro).

Has Jess really moved on from Nicky and the life they shared? And how in the hell is Nicky going to get Jess out of his mind again now that they are in the same place, at the same time? And speaking of that, is this just a coincidence? Or are they both working on the biggest con of their lives?

I give FOCUS an A: It has been many years since I have enjoyed a film this much that has been released this time of year ~ (as they usually aren’t the best) and THANK GOD that all the other actors that were taped to play the role Nicky declined, because WILL SMITH was by far the right choice ~ he was absolutely fabulous as the con man with a conscience ~ He plays Nicky rather reminiscent of his character in HITCH, but with an edginess and cockiness that makes him exactly what all the ladies want! And kudos too for the casting of Margo Robbie as the accomplice and love interest opposite Smith, as there love scenes together we so much hotter than those we all caught a few weeks ago, you know from the #1 film in February, 50 Shades of Grey. FOCUS is one of those films that will make everyone viewing it VERY, VERY HAPPY. And without giving too much else away, be on the lookout for one of my favorite actors from days gone by to show up, and in a very unexpected way too.   FOCUS is definitely the MUST SEE FILM this weekend ~ Its raw, inviting, sexy and will keep you guessing every step of the way.
