The FEEL-GOOD MOVIE OF SUMMER 2018 has just arrived – and you don’t want to miss a minute of it ON THE BIG SCREEN!” – Kathy Kaiser, Matinee Chat with Kathy Kaiser

MAMMA MIA:  HERE WE GO AGAIN – Rated PG-13 – 1 hr. 54 mins.

Director/Writer: Ol Parker

Additional Writers:  Richard Curtis, Catherine Johnson,

Starring:  Lily James, Amanda Seyfried, Cher, Meryl Streep, Dominic Cooper, Peirce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Andy Garcia, Josh Dylan, Jeremy Irvine and Hugh Skinner

Thrust right back into the beautiful, charming world of Donna (Lilly James/Meryl Streep), we find that Sophie has been a really busy girl, working on the hotel her mother envisioned many moons ago.  And as Sophie contemplates how her mother arrived at this magical place that they both call home, she flashes back to how her mother’s life began, when three extraordinary men, Harry (Hugh Skinner/Colin Firth), Bill (Josh Dylan/Stellan Skarsgard), and Sam (Jeremy Irvine/Pierce Brosnan) entered Donna’s life, thus giving her the greatest gift of all 😉   Now as Sophie herself finds pregnant too, she is blown away by the life her mother choose for the two of them so many years ago…as realizes their lives are about to come full circle in this paradise on a hill…

I give MAMMA MIA:  HERE WE GO AGAIN a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN:  Talk about entertaining and breathtakingly beautiful all at the same time, MAMMA MIA: HERE WE GO AGAIN is by far the best “feel good movie of 2018”, bar none.  From the plot twist in the storyline very early on, to the exquisite way this film flashes from present day, to Donna’s past life, there isn’t a moment throughout this film that you aren’t either smiling from ear-to-ear, or picking up a tissue to shed a tear.  Seyfried is perfect again as Sophie, along with her three fathers, played by Brosnan, Skarsgard and Firth again.  And what would a sequel be, without Donna’s two best friends, played by Baranski and Walters, reprising their roles.  Add in the handsomeness of Garcia, and the “I can still belt out a song” perfection of Cher…and you have one sequel of a film that is beyond compare!  Parker managed to create a film that I enjoyed even more than the original…and that hasn’t happened for me since GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 😉 If you love musicals, breathtakingly beautiful places, or just adore ABBA music, get ready to try not to break out into song with each passing frame…as there is only one film to head to the theaters this weekend to see, and that’s MAMMA MIA:  HERE WE GO AGAIN!
