“You have to see INCREDIBLES 2 on the BIG SCREEN, as it is so TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT!!!” – Kathy Kaiser, Matinee Chat
INCREDIBLES 2: Rated PG – 1 hr. 58 mins.
Director: Brad Bird
Writer: Brad Bird
Starring the voices of : Craig T. Nelson (Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible), Holly Hunter (Helen Parr/Elastigirl), Samuel L. Jackson (Lucius Best/Frozone), Sarah Vowell (Violet Parr), Huck Milner (Dashiell Parr), Brad Bird (Edna Mode), Eli Fucile (Jack-Jack) and Sophia Bush (Voyd)
Even though it’s been 14 years since we last saw the Parr Family…lucky for us…we pick up right where we left off, as we find Bob…ak.a. Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) attempting to come to terms with the fact that he is about to be a stay-at-home Dad, while wife Helen…a.k.a. Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) takes on being the #1 superhero of the family for a while, thus leaving Mr. Incredible to deal with the day-to-day trials and tribulations of raising three kids…as he is forced to come to terms with his own identity…
I give INCREDIBLES @ a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN! Yes, it has been totally worth the wait to see our favorite animated superheroes back on the big screen ~ even though I still felt the original, and its storyline, was slightly better. Bu, I still think that the “Mr. Mom” storyline this time around is totally apropos for our time, still making this film a must see on the big screen for me! Exciting as well, is that Director/Writer Brad Bird literally acted as if no time has passed at all…taking us right back to where we left off 14 years ago! I was also super-pumped that they did manage to make this sequel before any of the original characters were no longer with us! I must also share that waiting for this particular sequel was rather daunting, as my family LOVED the original so much, it must have played on our DVD player 100’s of times of the years. And we, like many of you, thought for sure a sequel would be right around the corner, not 14 years off…But, with that said, my now adult children are still SO EXCITED to catch ALL THE INCREDIBLES BACK IN ACTION on the big screen this weekend, and they, like you, are not going to be disappointed! Each of these characters are still as endearing as ever every step of the way, and the few new characters that get to embark on this new adventure along side our favorite crime-fighting family, are totally incredible too!!!

THIS SEGMENT MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS
INCREDIBLES 2 was 14 years in the making (at least that’s what they’re saying…lol), but it feels just like it was yesterday. The sequel picks up immediately where the first film ended and you really don’t notice how long it’s been in between the two films. That’s one of the reasons why I love computer animated films so much. It doesn’t matter when they’re made or how long it takes them to be made. The film will always speak for itself and the audience doesn’t get caught up in how old an actor has gotten or how “fat” they look now or even how completely different they look now (lol) for example…Silence of the Lambs vs. Hannibal (Clarice), Batman Begins vs. Dark Knight (Rachel), Harry Potter 1 & 2 vs. Harry Potter 3-8 (Dumbledore), Back to the Future vs. Back to the Future 2 & 3 (Jennifer and George McFly) and don’t get me started on the Marvel Cinematic Universe…LOL. Now, INCREDIBLES 2 was definitely a sequel I have been anticipating for quite a lonnnnnnnnnnng while. I absolutely loved the first film and was wondering why Disney never decided to make a sequel to it. I’m sure it has to do with getting Brad Bird back in the director’s chair again. He’s been busy directing a few films you may have heard about RATATOUILLE, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL and TOMORROWLAND (i think i’ll give him a pass…lol). But he came back and directed this amazing sequel that will go down in the film history books as one of the best Pixar animation films ever produced. INCREDIBLES 2 has just as much action, comedy and heart as the first film, not to mention Bird does some amazing things with his camera shots too. Once again, the audience is going to feel like they are “in” the movie while watching the action. That’s something you have to acknowledge about these two films. It’s hard enough for an audience to be entertained by a live action film, but to keep their attention for close to 2 hours with animation and to keep them on the edge of their seats while holding that attention is a task unto itself. I commend everyone involved with this film and salute the entire computer animation team. GREAT JOB EVERYONE INVOLVED!!! This is definitely a movie that needs and deserves to be seen on the big screen and I recommend everyone go see it in the theaters. It’s a wild ride and just a ball of fun to take in & see. Fun for the entire family!…LOL. Until next time, thanks for reading.
P.S. – There’s a small post credit scene – WATCH CAREFULLY or you might miss it 😉
