XXX :Return of Xander Cage – Rated PG-13 – 107 Minutes
Starring Vin Diesel, Donnie Yen, Deepika Padukone, Toni Collette, Samuel L Jackson, Ice Cube and many, many more
As we embark on the 3rd installment of the XXX Franchise, it seems XXX Operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) may not be dead after all, as he is summoned to put together a new team of real-life warriors to take on arch nemesis Xiang (Donnie Yen) and his own team of assassins.
As both parties search for the dreaded operating system Pandora’s Box ~ designed to destroy everything in its path ~ Cage is determined to snatch it first with assistance his team, our military, and Agent Jane Marke (Toni Collette) too.
When it seems that everyone may not be exactly who they say they are…Cage’s team must join forces with Xiang’s to make sure that this menace to society is destroyed…once and for all!!!
I give XXX: Return of Xander Cage a rating of wait and catch this film on DVD or NETFLIX: Even though it was great seeing Jackson, Diesel and Cube back on the big screen for this next installment, the movie itself didn’t really pack the punch I was hoping for. The storyline is okay, and some of the action sequences/CGI are a little better than average along the way too, but this film seemed to miss the mark compared to the action I’m used to viewing from Marvel, DC, or even Diesel’s Fast and Furious films too. I didn’t really enjoy Toni Collette’s attempt at Agent Jane Marke either, as her portrayal totally missed the mark for what it should have been, the entire time. But by the same standpoint, I was glad to see who was cast as the other kick-ass women incorporated into this movie ~ as Deepika Padukone, Ruby Rose and Nina Dobrev played out their roles quite nicely! XXX: Return of Xander Cage isn’t bad, but it’s not the best action-packed thriller I’ve viewed in a while either, leading me to suggest that if you are dying to see an action packed flick this weekend, then by all means don’t let me stop you, but I personally would wait till this one hits on DVD or NETFLIX, so that your not breaking the bank to catch a mediocre flick either…
