As I gathered round the table at the Four Seasons in St. Louis with fellow St. Louis Film Critics Bill Loellke of Webster Universities THE JOURNAL, and Cate Marquis of WE ARE MOVIE GEEKS ~ it was as if we had just sat down to join a good friend over coffee. In reality, we were sitting down to chat with St. Louis native, Webster University Alum and LA Film Producer KIMBERLY STEWARD, whose production company ~ K PERIOD PRODUCTIONS ~had just produced the much acclaimed, and hopefully OSCAR BOUND, MANCHESTER FROM THE SEA.
With her Midwestern upbringing, her gracious demeanor, and her creative genius being expelled all throughout this interview, you can definitely see why Ms. Steward is one of the up-and-coming new Producers within the film industry. With her master mind at the helm of this production, and her foresight to seize the work of Academy award nominated Director and Writer Kenneth Lonergan as the canvas of her first film ~ this girl is on FIRE, and in more ways then one!
Now sit back, and listen in, as Kimberly shares her thoughts about producing SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL’s BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR ~ and how she went from Journalist student at Webster University to running her very own production company…
