THE EDGE OF SEVENTEEN – Rated R – 104 Minutes

Starring Hailee Steinfeld, Woody Harrelson, Blake Jenner, Kyra Sedgwick, Haley Lu Richardson and Hayden Szeto

Writer and Director Kelly Freeman Craig has managed to bring the next COMING OF AGE CLASSIC to the big screen ~ so get ready to relive your teenage years, or experience them vicariously for the very first time…this is THE EDGE OF SEVENTEEN!

Living the life of a teenager is never easy…especially for woman, as we attempt to come into our own.

Welcome into the world of Nadine (Hailee Steinfeld), who is finding it more and more difficult to make it through the trails and tribulations of her god-awful teenage existence. Her mothers driving her crazy, most of her classes totally suck, except for her class Mr. Bruner (Woody Harrelson), who seems to find enjoyment in keeping Nadine on her toes ~ and never holding back on explaining what LIFE is really about!

When Nadine’s super-hot brother Darian (Blake Jenner), decides that he wants to date Nadine’s Best Friend Krista (Haley Lu Richardson), Nadine’s world comes crashing down, as there is no way she can share Krista with her p-o-s brother, no matter if she really likes him or not…

Now, as Nadine tries to find some semblance of peace, in her crazy, mixed up life, she decides its time to foster a new friendship with the hot guy from class who keeps hitting on her, Erwin (Hayden Szeto). With new things on the horizon both in and out of school, Nadine attempts to find her way back to her own reality, so she can make the most of what time she has left…in high school anyway… J

I give EDGE OF SEVENTEEN a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN!!! This film is absolutely one of the funniest movies I have seen all year!!! It has the same fabulous, fantastic and ferocious appeal and classic films like CLUELESS, PRETTY IN PINK and 16 CANDLES, with a modern day twist or two that will totally hit home whether you are 17 or 52!! Steinfeld’s performance is sheer perfection, playing the incorrigible teen Nadine! Harrelson’s performance is top-notch too, playing Mr. Bruner, teacher/mentor, who seems to have a very unconventional way to keep Nadine and all her psychosis at bay! You will laugh till you cry all the way through this incredibly well written ode to your teenage years. Kelly Freeman Craig is destined for greatness if she keeps writing material this fresh and original, yet so classically HUGHESQUE all at the same time! Take my word for it, if you can only see one film this weekend make it EDGE OF SEVENTEEN ~ and you won’t be sorry!!!
