THE ACCOUNTANT – Rated R – 2 hrs. 8 min.

Starring Ben Affleck, JK Simmons, Anna Kendrick, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey Tambor, John Lithgow and Cynthia Addai Robinson

Living in a world where numbers ~ and his brother ~ seem to be his only friends ~ we meet mathematic savant Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck), making his way through life pretty much a loner, except for a few “select clients” he’s picked up along the way.

When Wolff decides to move from money laundering for criminals to auditing an actual Robotics company for CEO Lamar Black (John Lithgow), he’s asked to determine if a discrepancy unearthed by young CPA Dana Cummings (Anna Kendrick), is legit.

As Wolff works to determine who has been cooking these books in their own favor, it seems that he has not only drawn the attention of the US Treasury Dept.’s lead agent, Ray King (JK Simmons) and his protégé Medina (Cynthia Addai Robinson), but some rather unsavory characters too who want to put an end to his meddling, once and for all…

I give THE ACCOUNTANT a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN: This film is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! Talk about the perfect cast brought to life ~ kudos to Director Gavin O’Connor ~ as he brought out the best in every one of his actors this time around! This is without question some of Affleck’s best work EVER, playing the highly functioning autistic savant Christian Wolff. Simmons and Robinson are exceptional too, playing US Treasury agents on a mission to stop Wolff’s money laundering deals all around the world. And Kendrick is superb as well, playing the possible love interest to Affleck’s character – their chemistry, or lack there of is sheer perfection. And shockingly too, the trailer for this film doesn’t give it all away, as the real storyline isn’t even conveyed ahead of time, giving THE ACCOUNTANT a refreshing feel as played out on the big screen. This film takes so many twists and turns, and in directions you don’t see coming, you won’t want to miss a single minute it. And luckily throughout too, Affleck is given the chance to work on and perfect his action skills, keeping him rough and ready for his next stint as the caped crusader too!!!
