FROZEN 2 – Rated PG – 1 hr. 43  mins.

“It’s Hard to believe, but FROZEN 2 is better than the original, in sooooo many ways! “- Kathy Kaiser,

FROZEN 2– Rated PG – 1 hr. 43  mins.

DIRECTORS:  Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee

WRITERS: Jennifer Lee, Chris Buck, Marc Smith, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez

STARRING THE VOICES OF:  Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, Jonathan Groff, Sterling K. Brown, Evan Rachel Wood and Jason Ritter

As we venture back to Arendelle to find out what Princess Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Princess Anna (Kristen Bell) have been doing for the last 6 years, it seems that our sisters are as happy as ever together, and lucky for us, Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Sven and Olaf (Josh Gad), have been able to hang around the castle, and Arendelle this whole time too…

But now it seems, a strange voice from the mist is calling to Elsa…harkening her to a land that neither she, nor Anna know, but as they both vow to stick together, not matter what lies ahead, they both, along with their trusty sidekicks of course, will find themselves venturing into the great unknown…

I give FROZEN 2 a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN!  Wow, it was quite a long wait to catch our favorite Princesses in action again, but oh was it soooo worth it!  Disney has managed to once again outdo themselves, as the storyline and music this time around, is even more incredible than in the original film!  And whether you loved FROZEN just as much as your kiddos did, or you were one of those parents that thought ” if I have to hear “Let it go…” or “Do you want to build a Snowman?” one more time, I’m going to lose it!”…I assure you that the songs from Frozen 2 won’t nearly annoy you as much, as they are truly magical and much needed for this incredible storyline, the whole way through.  Kudos too to Writers Jennifer Lee, Chris Buck, Marc Smith, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez, as they managed to take Anna and Elsa on an adventure that’s even more exciting, than their first escapade into the wilderness!  Suffice to say too, that Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell are even better in their respective roles as well this time around, as they seem more confident as to who Elsa and Anna are, and who they are both destined to become!  So, buckle in for another Disney Magic excursion that is going to leave you wanting more, even though I’m not sure if this is the plan, or not, this time around.  And I think that this second Frozen is focused more on the older children this time around too, and why wouldn’t it be, as the children who fell in love with the original are all 6 years older, and more mature as they say, although its perfect for the younger ones too, in so many ways! Rest assured all the fun, all the emotional connection and of course, all the love you felt for the first film is about to return, and then some…so gather up all the youngsters in your household, and all the old farts too, as everyone in the family is going to want to check out Disney’s latest masterpiece ASAP, at a theater near you!

Review of A DOG’S JOURNEY  – Rated PG –  1 hr. 48 mins

This humble opinion is brought to by you T. K. Edwards

A DOG’S JOURNEY  – Rated PG –  1 hr. 48 mins

Director:  Gail Mancuso

Cast:  Dennis Quaid, Josh Gad, Marg Heigenberger, Betty Gilpin, Kathryn Prescott

In this sequel to the 2017 hit “A Dog’s Purpose”, a dog finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he meets.

First things first, I’m a dog lover.  Always have. Always will be. So if you’re a cat person, then be warned…this article is 100% “Pro-Dog” and I may put down cats from time to time in it too.  So sorry, but that’s the way it is. A DOG’S JOURNEY was a welcome surprise for me. I’ve read books where the story follows the dog’s perspective, but I’ve never seen a movie that does – and yes, that does include A DOG’S PURPOSE.  For those of you that don’t know, A DOG’S JOURNEY is actually a sequel which is the first reason why I liked this movie. It’s not necessary to see the first film. A DOG’S JOURNEY is a movie that stands on its own and is it’s own story.  Yes there are returning characters and yes the dog does talk, but overall the movie is its own animal. Another reason why I really enjoyed this film is that it is highly emotional. A DOG’S JOURNEY does a wonderful job of allowing it’s dog loving audience to connect to both of it’s human and canine characters throughout the movie.  Trust me, this movie will bring up emotions you thought you buried way down deep and forgot. One minute you’re crying over the reincarnation of “Boss-dog”, the next minute you’re hit with a scene that strikes up a memory of your grandparents bear hugging you with love till you can’t breathe. A third and final reason I enjoyed this film was I went with my sister to see this one and she is a “dog fanatic”.  I love dogs, but she has a connection to them that would make the dog whisperer jealous. If you know someone like this, I highly suggest you see this movie with them because they help you get sucked into A DOG’S JOURNEY even more. Every scene is intensified and more loveable because they help you see and feel the loving unspoken connection between a dog and their owner. Dogs are truly man’s best friend. Cats are just roommates that don’t pay their share of the rent – and I mean that in the nicest way because like I said before…I’m a dog lover.  Always have. Always will be. And if you’re like me, then my suggestion is to make sure and watch A DOG’S JOURNEY. Whether you see it in theaters or at home depends on whether or not you care about strangers seeing you cry in public because it’s going to happen. Trust me. LOL. Until next time, thanks for reading

MARSHALL is based on an early trial in the career of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.  It follows the young lawyer (Chadwick Boseman) to conservative Connecticut to defend a black chauffeur (Sterling K. Brown) charged with sexual assault and attempted murder of his white socialite employer (Kate Hudson). Muzzled by a segregationist court, Marshall partners with a courageous young Jewish lawyer, Samuel Friedman (Josh Gad). Together they mount the defense in an environment of racism and Anti-Semitism.  The high profile case and the partnership with Friedman served as a template for Marshall’s creation of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

MARSHALL – Rated PG-13 – 1 hr. 58 mins.

MARSHALL – Rated PG-13 – 1 hr. 58 mins.

Starring Chadwick Boseman, Josh Gad, Kate Hudson and Sterling K. Brown

As we venture into the real-life story of NAACP Civil Rights Lawyer Thurgood Marshall (Chadwick Boseman), he has just taken on a case defending black man Joseph Spell (Sterling K Brown), who’s chauffeuring career has gotten him into a bit of trouble with his white employer, Mrs. Eleanor Strubing (Kate Hudson).

Convinced that once again a black man has been wrongfully accused, Marshall takes the case, but soon finds that the laws in Connecticut will not allow him to defend Spell…forcing Marshall to bring on Jewish Attorney Sam Friedman (Josh Gad) to preside over this case…

Believing in their clients innocence, Friedman and Marshall embark to prove that Spell is not only innocent…he is being railroaded by this rape charge, as there is absolutely no way he could have committed this crime.

As Friedman fights direction from Marshall, not really wanting to be the prosecuting attorney for this case from the start, both attorneys agree to come to an understanding on how they must proceed to best defend Spell, and get him released from jail…

When Spell’s squeaky clean story starts to unravel around the edges, its up to Thurgood Marshall to figure out truth vs. fiction in exactly what happened on that fateful night…proving that he is the best civil rights lawyer in our countries history, bar none!
I give MARSHALL a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN! This film manages to envelope your psyche in the true-life drama of Thurgood Marshall’s life, and the flawlessly presented nostalgia of the times…and doesn’t let go!!! Boseman is perfectly cast as Civil Rights Lawyer/Leader (and later in his career, first African-American Supreme court Justice) Thurgood Marshall. Taking on a more dramatic roll than usual – Gad was also the ideal selection to play Jewish Lawyer, and future NAACP supporter Sam Friedman. Even Hudson’s performance is noteworthy for her small, but pivotal role within this film. And St. Louis’s own Sterling K Brown’s performance is outstanding as well, as the accused rapist, running from the law, and with a few other indiscretions popping up along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed getting this small glimpse into Thurgood Marshall’s life, and his passion to uphold the rights of his fellow Blacks American’s, many years ago. With that said, MARSHALL is also prophetic with its storyline and timing of release, as much of it’s content still resonates in the trials and tribulations that Black American’s face still now, in our present day society…

Long before he sat on the United States Supreme Court or claimed victory in Brown v. Board of Education, the landmark case that desegregated schools, Thurgood Marshall (Chadwick Boseman) was a young rabble-rousing attorney for the NAACP. The new motion picture, MARSHALL, is the true story of his greatest challenge in those early days – a fight he fought alongside attorney Sam Friedman (Josh Gad), a young lawyer with no experience in criminal law:  the case of black chauffeur Joseph Spell (Sterling K. Brown), accused by his white employer, Eleanor Strubing (Kate Hudson), of sexual assault and attempted murder.

“Finally, a film made especially for ALL THE DOG LOVERS of this world…”                Kathy Kaiser

A DOG’S PURPOSE – Rated PG – 2 hours

Starring Josh Gad, Dennis Quaid, Peggy Lipton, Britt Robertson and K.J. Apa

Based on the novel by W. Bruce Cameron, and brought to the big screen by the man who directed such touching films as WHAT’S EATING GILBERT GRAPE, THE CIDER HOUSE RULES & THE HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY ~ Lasse Hallstrom ~ so get ready to have those heartstrings tugged, and tugged, and tugged, as we find out exactly what is A DOG’S PURPOSE!

As we venture into the day-to-day life of one spunky pup named Bailey (voiced by Josh Gad), it seems that he is the best friend and inseparable companion of his adorable human by the name of Ethan (Bryce Gheisar / K. J. Apa / Dennis Quaid).

Making a life filled with growing pains, family woes, and more fun that you could ever imagine for Bailey and Ethan, it seems the time has come for Bailey to move on to the great beyond…but, surprisingly it seems, Bailey has moved on to inhabiting a new puppies life, and now he goes by the name of Tino…

As we watch Bailey’s future unravel again, and again, and again, its seems that he’s destined to be on this planet for quite sometime, as he is reincarnated, to live our the lives of many different dogs, all with very different existences, as our story unfolds…

I give A DOG’s PURPOSE a rating between MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN or WAIT AND CATCH THIS FILM ON DVD. Even with all the unsubstantiated abuse allegations hitting the Internet prior to release, I was anxious to see this film, and all it’s furry creatures ~ as I have been blessed with having a dog or two in my life since the age of 6, and through the years all of my dogs are a part of my family too! Josh Gad is perfect as the voice of the numerous doggies we get to meet along the way. And it was great to see Dennis Quaid back on the big screen too, even though you have to wait quite a while for him to arrive on screen. The storyline of this film is so cute and cuddly one minute, then so sad and tragic the next, you better bring along a few Kleenex, just in case! And talk about adorable dogs, this film is filled with them, making you want to adopt each and everyone, as you begin to see and hear their story play out on screen. But, I’m guessing that this might have been one of those films that I hyped up so much in my mind over the last few months, that when I got to see it play out on the big screen, it fell a little short of my expectations. It is really good, don’t get me wrong, it just wasn’t quite as fabulous as I was hoping for. And if you haven’t read the book, and are going in blindly like I was, there are a few scenes that may bee too graphic for younger viewers (2-8 years old), so take heed that you may want to view it at a theater near you this weekend with your older children in tow, before you allow the little ones to catch it in the theater or on DVD when it is released in a few weeks.

NEW YORK, NY – MARCH 18: (L-R) Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, ‘Red’, Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and Maya Rudolph attend the United Nations Ceremony, Presentation and Photo Call naming Red, from the “ANGRY BIRDS movie, Honorary Ambassador for the International Day of Happiness, to be observed around the world on March 20th, at United Nations on March 18, 2016 in New York City.

About International Day of Happiness – MARCH 20, 2016

Red, the starring animated character voiced by US star Jason Sudeikis in the upcoming “The Angry Birds Movie,” was named Honorary Ambassador for Green on the International Day of Happiness today at the United Nations.

The appointment of Red is part of the #AngryBirdsHappyPlanet campaign to help the world body promote the International Day of Happiness, which is observed on March 20 each year, and encourage people to take action against climate change and its impacts.

The International Day of Happiness recognizes that Gross Domestic Product alone cannot measure the wealth and well-being of a country’s population and a more inclusive, equitable, balanced and sustainable approach to growth and development is key to being happy.

After United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon named Red as Honorary Ambassador for Green, the campaign was presented to hundreds of young people in the iconic General Assembly Hall of the United Nations.

The presentation included the movie’s US stars Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad and Maya Rudolph as well as producers John Cohen and Catherine Winder, who asked the attendees for their support to make the Angry Birds happy by doing their part to take action against climate change.  They presented the “Help Red Go Green” materials including public service announcements created to support the campaign. By participating in the #AngryBirdsHappyPlanet campaign, individuals can make the Angry Birds happy and “Help Red Go Green” by posting photos and messages to show how they are protecting our planet by recycling, taking public transportation and conserving water, for example.

“The Angry Birds have entertained millions of people around the world — and now they are part of making the world a better place,” said UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. “We are proud to give Red a reason to go Green. There is no better way to mark the International Day of Happiness than to have our animated ambassador raise awareness about the importance of addressing climate change to create a safer, more sustainable and happier future for all.”

“We are incredibly honored that Red from ‘The Angry Birds Movie’ has been named as the Honorary Ambassador for Green.  While Red may still look angry, we know that he’s smiling on the inside.  As we say in our ‘Help Red Go Green’ campaign, nothing makes an angry bird happier than a healthy planet.  In partnership with the UN, we are very excited to help raise awareness of critical global issues such as climate change,” said John Cohen, producer of “The Angry Birds Movie” and “Despicable Me.”

March 20 has been established as the annual International Day of Happiness.
