THE BOSS BABY – FAMILY BUSINESS – Rated PG
DIRECTOR: Tom McGrath
WRITERS: Marla Frazee & Michael McCullers
STARRING: Alec Baldwin, James Marsden, Ariana Greenblatt, Lisa Kudrow, Jeff Goldblum, Jimmy Kimmel, Eva Longoria, & Amy Sedaris
Ever since the trailer first popped, I’ve been waiting in anticipation to see if The Boss Baby: Family Business, could measure up to the original film that was filled with the antics of brothers Teddy Templeton (Alec Baldwin) and Timothy Templeton (Tobey Maguire) way back in 2017, which after last year, seems like eons ago. And with a few strategic moves, including replacing Tobey Maguire’s role as Tim, with the voice of James Marsden, the sequel to the hilarious original, keeps getting better and better and this film evolves.
And the premise behind Director Tom McGrath’s next BIG adventure, is picture perfect too, as both Tim and Ted are now grownups, who have taken totally different paths in life… with Ted, oh I mean Theodore (Baldwin) making his way in the business world, sending lavish gifts to his adorable nieces Tabitha (Ariana Greenblatt) and baby Tina too (Amy Sedaris), as big brother Tim tries to find his way as a stay at home Dad, trying to keep the faith in his unending attempts to be the BEST DAD EVER!
And as this story unfolds, it seems that baby Tina may be following in the footsteps of Uncle Teddy too, and his super-duper baby powers…as we find ourselves once again on one heck of a joy ride, as the babies are not only trying to take over the world, but we also get to meet the sinister teacher of Tabitha’s (Ariana Greenblatt), Dr. Armstrong (Jeff Goldblum), who may have a few tricks or up his sleeve, planned not only for the Templeton clan this time around, but the rest of the parents of his students along the way too! And then once Grandma (Lisa Kudrow), and Grandpa (Jimmy Kimmel) return on the scene, this sequel ends up bringing you all the charm of the original film, and then some – complete with more brotherly dis-love and antics that will totally draw you in. You will also find that this film will have you melting into a big pile of mush along the way too, with its fabulously family-centric storyline, and super awesome soundtrack the whole way through too, which totally adds to the animated treasure that this film becomes as well. Plus, if you find yourself living the life of a Dad with girls, then prepare yourself to get choked up at some points along the way too, as the Boss Baby: Family Business, definitely goes for pulling on those girl Dad heartstrings, with a perfectly crafted side story as well, thus leading me to tell you that you have to gather up the kids, and head out to a theater near you this weekend, or stream this one on PEACOCK at home too using the link below, as this hilarious family film is one you’ll definitely want to catch with the entire family in tow, any way you can catch it, this July 4th weekend!
