On the Basis of Sex

“The 1st fantastic film release of 2019 is here, and you don’t want to miss a minute of Jones’s fabulous performance as Bader Ginsburg! It’s as legendary as the Supreme Court Justice herself…”       Kathy Kaiser – Matineechat.com

Based on the true-life story Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Felicity Jones), this film shares the struggles, torment and finally, validation that Bader Ginsburg gained, as she took on equal rights for everyone within this country, before presiding on the bench of the of Supreme Court of this great land…

I give ON THE BASIS OF SEX a rating of MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN!  Felicity Jones’s definitely “Brought It” for this performance, as she is flawless, sharing Bader Ginsburg’s life on the big screen…Whether she is fighting through the trails and pitfalls of being a woman at Harvard Law School in the late 50’s, or working as a Law Professor in the 70’s, helping her students gain perspective of their Civil Rights, or she is taking on a case to fight for equal rights for everyone within this country – Male or Female – all the way to the Supreme Court, Bader Ginsburg forged a path, with a style, and grace, all her own.  Armie Hammer is as adorable as ever as well, playing not only the supportive husband, and exceptional lawyer, but also as the doting father to their two children, every step of the way.  And it was exciting too to get to see Theroux, Waterson, Bates and Root round out the incredible cast of this film, as even when you don’t like the positions they are taking against our heroine, you still marvel at their picture-perfect performances!  Add in the exceptional performance too from Cailee Spaeny, as Bader Ginsburg’s daughter Jane, and you end up with a biographical journey of one woman’s life, that will absolutely entertain you from its first frame to its last…
